HCT-1000

The HCT-1000 System is a fully programmable hand held convection rework tool that can both remove and place SMT components. It features digital controls, in-ternal or external thermocouple feedback control, program storage of up to 50 profiles and integrated vacuum pick-up for component placement and removal.

HCT2-200-21

The HCT2-200-21 Hot Air Pencil is the latest addition to Metcal’s convection rework tools. This digital handheld convection tool is ideally suited for light rework applications, which use smaller components and integrated circuits.

As component miniaturization continues (i.e. 01005components) the ergonomics of a pencil allow a user more freedom to access and rework components on the board without affecting adjacent parts.  Larger handheld convection systems commonly reflow and dislodge adjacent components due to a higher minimum airflow.

The HCT2 series of Digital Hot Air Pencils have always included an array of nozzle sizes and precision control. The HCT2-200’simproved thermal performance allows the user to target a larger variety of components. Metcal has made working under a microscope easier with the optional bent nozzles. Add the HCT2-200-21 to your workbench and experience improved performance.

Application

HCT2-200-21 was developed for very small surface mount component and package sizes (1206’s and smaller) and low board densities. For denser PCBA’s or applications with heavy copper planes; boards > 4 layers;or components larger than 5mm, use of a Metcal preheater (PCT-100 series) maybe necessary.

MRS-1100A

The MRS-1100A Modular Rework System is an integrated convection rework system for the removal and reflow of BGA/CSP and SMT components. The MRS-1100A is comprised of a hand held convection tool, preheater, adjustable tool holder, and free-standing board holder to create a manually assisted rework system. A series of nozzles, targeting a variety of applications, and optional light magnifier round out the product offering for this system. With standard features such as programmability, a digital display, program storage of up to 50 profiles, this system is not only versatile, but also easy and efficient to work with. A choice of board holders and accessories are available that make the system capable of handling multiple sizes of PCBs. The MRS-1100A allows you the choice of using either the embedded profiling capability that can be configured to operate at a fixed temperature, or a four zone programming option. The unit also allows the temperature to be controlled either at the heat output (internal) or at the board (external). The “external” control function uses a thermocouple which can be placed on the board or a component.

HCT-900-21

The HCT-900 Hand Held Convection Tool is a low cost, versatile rework solution for a wide variety of production and rework application challenges. It has a compact, robust design comprising of analog controls for both airflow and heat. A closed loop feedback circuit controls the temperature allowing the desired temperature to be achieved and maintained regardless of changes in the volume of airflow.

MFR-2240

Like the MFR-1100 Series, the MFR-2200 offers the same choice of multiple hand-pieces with two ports. Flexibility can be increased by locking both systems together. The MFR-2240 includes a Tweezer Hand-piece for the rework of SMD components with fine dimension to large blade geometries.

PCT-1000

The PCT-1000 is a programmable preheater that provides users the ability to increase heat capacity with highly controlled thermal output. The PCT-1000 can be used in a variety of processes including soldering, desoldering, SMD rework operations and, with its added heat capacity, will provide faster production rates while lowering overall process temperatures.

Used for SMT and through-hole hand processes, the PCT-100 uses convection air heating to heat a PCB first, for better soldering, improved process control and increased productivity. The PCT-100 Focus Pre-heater adds heat volume, without turning up the temperature, to perform assembly tasks at the appropriate peak temperature without distorting the board
